Kelowna council candidate takes ‘common sense’ approach

One of the 37 candidates running for Kelowna city council in the October election says his campaign platform is built on common sense.

Brian Pinter said public service isn’t about politics, “…it’s about protecting the future of our community and ensuring Kelowna remains a place where families, workers, and businesses can thrive. “

He said, having watched the mounting pressures facing local families – from the rising cost of living, congestion in our streets, to community safety concerns, “…I have stepped forward to offer a steady, practical voice at City Hall. I believe that local government has a duty to lead by example, respect the taxpayer, and focus relentlessly on the core services that make our city one of the most desirable places to live.”

Pinter’s platform includes: Fiscal responsibility with taxpayer dollars, collaboration with other levels of government, safer streets, and creating more, new programs and options to help new homeowners buy.
