Silver Star Freestyle Club training facility opening

Young skiers and snowboarders will be able to train and learn tricks outside the winter season.

The Silver Star Freestyle Club opens its new training facility at the local ski hill ahead of the weekend

The facility’s centrepiece is a large landing airbag with a 60-metre dry-slope in-run, which can be used year round for skiers and snowboarders to learn and progress their aerial maneuvers and skills. It will also mean local kids will no longer need to travel to Alberta, Quebec, or Europe to access this kind of training facility.

The club raised $470,000 to establish the facility. That included lead funding from PacifiCan’s Tourism Growth Program, contributions from community members and donors, and a contribution from Destination Silver Star.
