Sixth annual BX Farm Tours set for Friday, Saturday

Sep 14, 2026 | 12:44 PM

People looking to explore the local farms and learn about the agricultural sector will have the chance this weekend.

The sixth annual BX Farm Tour takes place on Friday and Saturday.

The event, with the theme Know Your Farmer, Explore the BX, will see participants connect with farmers who raise animals and produce food within the region through self-guided and organized tours, at farm and artisan stands, and in hands-on farm activities.

The BX Farm Tour will highlight 11 local farms, including two new additions for this year.

“Knowing where your food comes from and knowing the people who grow it creates a connection that you just can’t get at a grocery store. We’re excited to welcome people to Vanzeal Acres, introduce them to our animals and gardens, and share the joys—and the hard work—of small-scale farming in the BX,” Jenn Cameron of Vanzeal Acres stated.

“The BX is a wonderful agricultural community, and the Farm Tour gives us a chance to share what we love about regenerative farming and living on the land. We want our farm guests to see that growing food is about more than the harvest—it’s about healthy soil, caring for the land, supporting local food and building a stronger connection between farmers and our community,” Karen Smith of the Smith Family Farm added.

People were encouraged to pick up a BX Farm Tour Passport and stop at all 11 locations for a chance to win the Grand Harvest Basket, filled with products donated from local farmers.

There will also be a BX Farm Tour colouring contest and a Know Your Famer Celebration Dinner at Cambium Cider Co. Thursday, Sept. 24.
