Funds have been approved to cover the costly repairs of the Lavington Outdoor Pool.

On Monday, July 27, Coldstream Council received a report that showed a gutter-drain pipe was damaged, allowing gravel to enter the pool’s circulation system.

To address this issue a new 35′ long pipe would need to be installed, along with new bedding and concrete.

Coldstream Council agreed to spend $25,000 to replace the pipe at Monday’s meeting.

The pool would have to be closed for the work and for several days following to allow the concrete to properly cure. It was estimated the outdoor pool could be ready to reopen by August 8, though the municipality stated it was working to complete the work and reopen the pool earlier if possible.

The costs to repair the pool would be funded through the Infrastructure Reserve.
