West Kelowna driver fined after passing stopped school bus
RCMP in West Kelowna have issued more than $725 in violation tickets after a driver was caught on video allegedly failing to stop for a school bus with its red lights flashing and stop arm extended.
Police say the incident came to their attention after video circulated online showing a vehicle passing the stopped bus. Traffic Services investigators reviewed the footage and were able to identify the vehicle and attend the registered owner’s residence in West Kelowna.
As a result of the investigation, officers issued violation tickets totaling more than $725 to the suspected driver.
“We were able to identify the suspect driver in the incident and issued violations for failing to stop for a school bus and driving without due care and attention,” said Const. Gordon Carson of West Kelowna RCMP Traffic Services.
