Fundraising for annual Dancing with the Vernon Stars

The North Okanagan Hospice Society’s biggest fundraiser of the year is underway.

Ten teams participating in Dancing with the Vernon Stars have started their fundraising for the agency that provides end-of-life care services and programs for people in the community.

“We are so excited to welcome this year’s teams and kick off another season of Dancing with the Vernon Stars,” Megan Cox, NOHS’s Executive Director, said.

“This event brings so much energy, creativity, and heart to our community, and every dollar raised helps support the important work of Hospice.”

Each team, consisting of a local community leader paired with a professional dance instructor, has their own fundraising page, which can be found here, and very dollar they raise will go towards the Hospice Society.

The fundraiser will culminate with the teams showing off their dance moves with a performance in front of judges, family, friends and lovers of the arts. That event will go at the Prestige Vernon Lodge October 3.

The organizers also announced that Ryan Sheepwash of TMS: Transition Marketing Services was named the new Director.

“I danced as a competitor in 2024 and loved the experience, dancing for a great cause,” Sheepwash stated.

“Hospice is just such a special place for so many of us in this community. I’m honoured to be part of this fabulous event.”
