Vernon Pride Week returns with expanded Pride in the Park celebration

Jun 1, 2026 | 10:45 AM

Vernon Pride Week is back.

The festivities run June 1 to 6, 2026, bringing a full slate of events across the North Okanagan focused on inclusion, education and celebration for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Organized by the Vernon Pride Society, this year’s schedule is anchored by an expanded Pride in the Park on June 5 at Civic Memorial Park. The event combines Pride Day and Pride in the Park into one large community gathering featuring a Pride march, drag performances, live DJs, a community market, vendors, food and entertainment.

The week opens June 1 with a ceremony at Vernon City Hall, followed by queer rock climbing at The Rock Garden. Programming continues with a Human Library event at Cheek to Cheek Dance Studio, a family board game night at The Boarding House Café, and a Two-Spirit, Trans and Non-Binary storytelling evening at the Caetani Cultural Centre.

On June 6, events wrap up with a Pride picnic at Kin Beach and Rainbow Storytime at the Vernon Library, featuring books and activities focused on diversity, kindness and belonging.

Organizers say the week is designed to foster visibility, connection and understanding while welcoming people of all ages and backgrounds. Media are invited to attend and cover events throughout the week.
