Coldstream offering free wood chipping ahead of wildfire season
With wildfire season fast approaching, the District of Coldstream is offering a free service to help protect people’s properties.
As part of the municipality’s larger FireSmart work, Coldstream residents will be able to access a free wood chipping service.
This program will allow residents to dispose of woody debris and potential fire fuels such as branches, shrubs, and small trees.
“By removing these materials from their properties, homeowners can significantly decrease potential fire hazards and improve the safety of their homes and neighbourhoods,” the District said, adding this initiative is a practical and effective way for homeowners to participate in community-wide wildfire prevention.
