Kelowna police, gang unit seize guns and drugs in city crackdown
Kelowna police joined forces with the Uniform Gang Enforcement Team (UGET) last week in a coordinated effort to remove firearms and illegal drugs from city streets.
From Jan. 12 to 16, officers conducted joint operations and specialized training designed to strengthen investigative skills and improve tactics for targeting repeat offenders.
The multi-day initiative resulted in 28 arrests and the seizure of more than 20 weapons, including a carbine replica, along with a significant amount of drugs and approximately $5,000 in cash.
The operations also sparked more than 20 new investigations, officials said, reflecting ongoing efforts to disrupt organized crime and enhance community safety.
