Traffic still impacted despite pause on 43rd Ave. path project
Work has been halted on Vernon’s newest multi-use pathway, but traffic is still being impacted over the winter.
The city has been building a new multi-use pathway on 43rd Avenue by Alexis Park Elementary and across from Kal Tire Place and the new Active Living Centre. The work caused traffic to be limited to one lane in each direction.
The project is being paused until the spring, but a temporary median has been installed that restricts vehicles from turning left off 43rd Ave. and onto 35th St. by the school.
“The interim configuration aligns with the future intersection layout, reducing conflict points and improving safety for all road users,” a city staff report stated.
