A new trail network and natural space has opened in the North Okanagan.

The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) has officially opened the new Goose Lake Range Park and incorporated it into the Greater Vernon Trails and Natural Spaces service.

The new park offers three kilometres of non-motorized, multi-use gravel trails through the property, which spans approximately 113 acres. The park also features native grasslands and wetlands, and the RDNO said its location on the plateau between Swan Lake and Okanagan Lake offers a unique outdoor experience.

“Goose Lake Range Park is a fantastic addition to our region, offering accessible trails and preserving the natural beauty of the North Okanagan”, Bob Fleming, Chair of the Greater Vernon Advisory Committee, stated.

“This project reflects our commitment to creating spaces where people can enjoy the outdoors and experience amazing views, while respecting the environment.”

Goose Lake Range Park is located north of Vernon and west of Swan Lake.

It can be accessed by turning off Highway 97 onto Mendenhall Road, which becomes Stepping Stones Road. At the end of that road is a one kilometre access road that leads to the Goose Lake Range Park parking lot, on the corner of Stepping Stones Rd. and Stepping Stones Crescent.
