Driver taken to hospital following early morning Kelowna crash

A driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a single-vehicle crash early Thursday in downtown Kelowna.

RCMP said the collision happened just after 4:30 a.m. at the intersection of Harvey Ave. and Water St. when a vehicle struck a building.

One southbound lane of Harvey was closed for a short time while emergency crews responded, but the site was cleared by about 6:30 a.m. and all lanes were fully reopened in time for the morning commute.

Police said it remains unclear whether alcohol or speed were factors in the crash, and the investigation is ongoing.
