New Kelowna clinic takes on skin cancer with downtown expansion
A new clinic in the heart of Kelowna is putting skin health front and centre.
Kelowna Medical Aesthetics has opened a 2,800-square-foot space on Bernard Avenue dedicated to mole mapping and skin screening — part of a growing push to catch skin cancer early across the Okanagan.
Staff say the expansion comes as more people in the region face higher UV exposure and an increased risk of skin damage. The clinic’s new equipment uses advanced imaging technology to help detect changes in the skin before they turn serious.
Joining the team is Dr. Arthur Vasquez, a physician with more than 30 years of experience and a Diploma in Dermatology. He’ll lead the clinic’s mole mapping program, aimed at helping patients track skin changes and improve early detection.
