Murder Trial

Murder trial to resume in February

Oct 15, 2025 | 6:00 AM

A murder trial that was paused in August will resume in the new year.

The trial of Peter Visintainer, accused of first degree murder in the death of Wolf Ingo Beyer, began August 5, 2025.

The trial was paused on August 22 at the defence’s request to obtain a private psychiatric report to determine if the accused was not criminally responsible for any actions due to a mental disorder.

The B.C. Prosecution Service said the trial would resume at the Vernon courthouse on February 2, though noted it would only go for one week and then be halted again until March 23.
