The formal unveiling has happened for the latest rental residential apartment building in Kelowna.

Capstone, part of the Apple Valley complex on Mayer Road off Benvoulin Rd. features 122 units on nine storeys. It was formally opened Wednesday, Oct.15.

The energy-efficient mass timber building offers a mix of one- and two-bedroom homes for people with low or moderate incomes.

A media release from BC Housing said, in part, more families, seniors and people living with disabilities now have affordable, energy-efficient homes in Kelowna.

“This is about providing people a better place to live,” Christine Boyle, Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs, said.

“These new homes at Capstone will make life more affordable for people, and with our partners we are helping build a more sustainable, vibrant and cleaner future for our growing community.”
