Criminal withdrawal: Thieves hit Peachland ATM

A gaping hole was left in the wall of the VantageOne Credit Union in Peachland early Wednesday morning.

West Kelowna RCMP said suspects used heavy machinery and a pick-up truck to try to steal the drive-thru ATM in the 5500 block of Clements Crescent.

The call to police came in around 4:26 a.m., and on arrival, officers figured suspects had used the heavy vehicles to forcibly remove the ATM deposit box from the side of the building before taking off with it.

Police found the vehicles and the deposit box nearby and they are being forensically processed.
