UPDATE: No injuries in semi crash on Highway 97 Monday

No injuries were reported following a crash on the highway near Spallumcheen Monday afternoon.

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP said the crash occurred around 2:25 p.m. Oct. 6 when a tractor-trailer hauling concrete missed the turn from Pleasant Valley Road onto the highway.

Police say the trucks wheels went into the soft shoulder and sunk, resulting in the semi flipping on its side and down the embankment.

A southbound lane of the highway was closed through the afternoon and into the evening while a trucking company arranged to remove the truck and trailer. The RCMP did not state what time the road was able to fully reopen.

A semi truck reportedly crashed on the highway near Armstrong Monday afternoon.

A caller told Vernon Matters a truck appeared to had missed the turn from Pleasant Valley Road and crashed on Highway 97 near the Spallumcheen industrial area, on the Armstrong side of Tolko. DriveBC confirmed the incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, with no estimated time for when the road would be cleared as of time of publication.

The caller said the semi truck had spilled its load into the ditch and into the southbound lanes of the highway, causing traffic delays between Pleasant Valley Road and Eagle Rock Road.

First responders and tow trucks were reportedly already on scene.
