Annual Harvest Pumpkin Festival begins Friday
The 25th edition of a much-loved tradition returns to the Armstrong-Spallumcheen area Friday.
The Annual Harvest Pumpkin Festival runs from Oct. 3 to 13 and allows residents and visitors to take part in the celebrations that include:
- Family Day (Oct. 11) at the fairgrounds featuring kids’ activities, entertainment, and hands-on demos
- Free workshops ranging from pickling to earring making to painting, though registration is required due to limited spaces
- Community events including the Okanagan Street Fall Block Party, square dancing, family movie nights, the barn quilt tour, and nightly visits to flower farms and pumpkin patches
- Live entertainment by Ryley Booth at Bloom Flowers and Doug Robb at Farmstrong Cider Co.
- Signature activities including the Gian Pumpkin Weigh-In (20-2’s winner weighed 1,408 lbs. and was the largest pumpkin recorded in B.C. that year), and the Great Pumpkin Launch
“Whether you’ve been coming for years or this is your first time, there’s no better year to experience the magic,” Patti Noonan, executive director of the Armstrong Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce, stated.
