Sep 28, 2025 | 6:37 AM

As the marketing slogan suggests, it’s certainly a major touchdown for Kelowna.

The city will host two BC Lions regular season CFL games next year in an experience titles Touchdown Kelowna.

A media release from the BC Lions noted exact dates and opponents are yet to announced along with the 2026 CFL Schedule release.

The Apple Bowl, located just outside downtown Kelowna, will be expanded into a temporary stadium with seating for 17,500 fans and a variety of unique viewing experiences.

The games are coming to Kelowna because BC Place will be unavailable as Vancouver hosts 2026 FIFA World Cup soccer games.

The Lions said to keep their schedule moving and to bring CFL football to a new community, they will play two regular season games at Kelowna’s Apple Bowl.

“Touchdown Kelowna is both a practical solution and an exciting opportunity to showcase our game in the Okanagan during this historic moment for British Columbia. Alongside the games, the BC Lions will host a festival celebrating Canadian football, ” the statement said.

With dates and location to be announced soon, the festival will feature live music, food, and family-friendly fun. The goal is to showcase the best of Kelowna while creating a one-of-a-kind football celebration that brings fans together from across B.C. and beyond.

With the limited capacity in Kelowna, the best opportunity to attend these games will be as a 2026 Season Ticket Holder, who will be receiving priority pre-sale access to these games well before the general public. 2026 season tickets are on sale now. To review options, click HERE.
