The owners of a swath of property in Vernon are planning a new multi-use development and want to hear from the public.

Arrowleaf Real Estate owns 18 acres of property near Polson Park, the Shops at Polson Park, the downtown core, and the Kal Tire Head Office.

The local company wants to use that land to build a new mixed-use neighbourhood project that will include additional housing options, community spaces, and new businesses.

Before moving ahead in the planning stages, Arrowleaf wants to hear from the public, and will host Community Input Forums Wednesday, Sept. 24.

The forums will be held at BNA Brewing on Kalamalka Lake Road from 1 to 3:30 p.m. and from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

“We are at the preliminary planning stages and community input is the cornerstone of this process,” Arrowleaf’s Executive Managing Director, Andrew Kurbis, said.

“We are excited about the opportunity to talk directly with the community and to hear their perspectives and priorities, all of which will guide the planning work before we make an application to the city.”

Arrowleaf representatives will be on hand at the forums to answer questions and listen to input from attendees at the forums. The company will also put information about the project up on their website Wednesday, which will also include an opportunity for people to submit feedback online.
