Temporary road closures required for Sundog Festival

Sep 16, 2025 | 1:34 PM

The annual arts and culture celebration in Vernon will require some road closures.

The Sundog Festival will be held at Civic Memorial Park on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 19 and 20.

To accommodate the celebrations that include family-friendly activities, live music and entertainment, and the Polson Artisan Market, the City of Vernon will close 31st Street from 37th to 39th Avenues, and 37th Avenue from 31st to 30th Streets.

The road closures will begin at 7 a.m. on both Friday and Saturday.

Traffic control personnel will be on the scene, directing motorists around the closures, with the exception of local traffic which will be permitted to access businesses and residences in the area.

The city advised people to avoid the area if possible and and to allow extra travel time when driving past the park.

The City of Vernon added there would be free parking at City Hall after 5 p.m. Friday and all day Saturday for people to use when attending the Sundog Festival of Arts and Culture. There will also be street parking available in the area, though also encouraged people to use alternative modes of transportation to get to the event, noting there will be bike and scooter valet services at the festival.
