Code of Conduct Violation

Vernon cop resigns following code of conduct hearing

Sep 12, 2025 | 10:20 AM

A member of the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP has left the force.

Constable Shaun Miranda was the subject of an RCMP Code of Conduct hearing in August. The hearing was related to an alleged violation of the clause 7.1 of the Code of Conduct, “Discreditable Conduct: Member behaving in a manner that is not likely to discredit the Force.”

The RCMP told Vernon Matters in an email that “all the allegations were established [in the hearing], and the board decided the member had to resign within 14 days or he would be dismissed.”

Mounties added Miranda submitted his dismissal papers in the first week of September, which were accepted.

The RCMP did not provide any further details about the allegation as of time of publication, stating more information would be provided when the Conduct Hearing’s written decision is published.
