IKEA Canada to open new ‘Plan and Order Point’ in Kelowna

Sep 11, 2025 | 10:40 AM

Kelowna shoppers will soon have a simpler way to plan and buy home furnishings, with IKEA Canada opening a new Plan and Order Point.

The store will be at Central Park Power Centre, 1500 Banks Rd., #104, and is expected to open in spring 2026, according to a press release issued Thursday morning. It will be the second location in British Columbia, following Abbotsford, and the 12th Plan and Order Point in Canada.

Plan and Order Points let customers book one-on-one appointments with IKEA experts to design and purchase solutions for any room, including kitchens and bedrooms. Orders can be delivered to homes or collected on site, and the Kelowna location will also carry a limited number of items for immediate purchase.

“Plan and Order Points bring high-quality design services closer to Canadians,” said Jessie Quick, country business development and transformation manager at IKEA Canada. “As the cost of living rises, our priority is to offer affordable, functional and inspiring home furnishing solutions — no matter where customers live or how they choose to shop.”

The retailer said Plan and Order Points reduce travel distances for customers, providing accessibility, affordability and sustainability benefits. IKEA Canada has also recently made online and in-store planning services free, lowered in-home kitchen planning fees from $199 to $129, cut the entry delivery fee from $39 to $19, and introduced ‘Rooms of Choice’ delivery options.

IKEA has been in B.C. for nearly 50 years, opening its first Canadian store in Richmond in 1976. The company now operates two stores, three pick-up locations, numerous parcel pick-up points, and a customer distribution centre in the province.
