Kelowna RCMP has released a description and sketch of a suspect in a sexual assault incident in Rutland.

It happened two Saturdays ago on August 23, between 10 p.m. and midnight behind the strip mall in the 300 block of Highway 33.

Police said a female youth victim was assaulted by an unknown male who then ran off.

He’s described as 30-40 years old, about 5-foot-8, darker complexion, dark hair, with medium build.

In a media release, RCMP said as this person is still not yet identified, they remind the public to be aware of their surroundings when walking alone during the evening hours. The public can expect to see police presence in the area of the assault throughout the day and evening.
