PGA Teach-A-Thon running at local courses in support of mental health services

People wishing to hone their golf game can do so while also supporting mental health services.

The PGA of B.C. Teach-A-Thon is running through September 30. The initiative allows people can learn tips and tricks to strengthen their swings from PGA of B.C. professionals, with proceeds from the lesson fees going towards the Canadian Mental Health Association operations in British Columbia.

The Vernon and District branch of the CMHA is participating in the event, with lessons being offered at Predator Ridge and Vernon Golf and Country Club.

Money raised from the local lessons will go to support the CMHA Vernon food security program, which provides both adults and youth with access to healthy foods.

As of time of publication, the initiative had already raised $2,168.25, with the goal of raising a total of $50,000.
