Kelowna cop charged with assault

A Kelowna RCMP officer has been charged with assault.

The BC Prosecution Service (BCPS) has approved the charge that stemmed from an incident in August, 2023.

Cst. Russell Reeder faces one count of assault and will appear in court Sept.18.

In a media release the BCPS said the charges were approved by an experienced Crown Counsel who has no connection with the accused.

No further details have been released.
