Silver Star Water Utility Work

Water system work to interrupt service, lead to water quality advisory

Sep 3, 2025 | 2:50 PM

Greater Vernon Water said there will be a temporary service interruption as work is done on the Silver Star Water Utility.

The work was scheduled for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, and will see customers attached to the system not have water service during that time. Greater Vernon Water (GVW) noted that unforseen complications could lead to the interruption going longer than planned, and advised people in the area to have extra drinking water on hand.

GVW added the work may result in customers on Pinnacles Road to be placed on a Water Quality Advisory after the work is done and until water sample testing shows the water is once again safe for consumption.

Properties in the affected area may experience a loss of water pressure or discolouration in their tap water following the work. People were advised to run their taps on cold until the water runs clear in these cases, with GVW noting it was best to do this using an outdoor tap.
