Serious assault in Rutland park

RCMP have given some details regarding a violent incident at Rutland Lions Park on Monday afternoon.

They say a 35-year-old man sustained serious injuries after being assaulted with a weapon shortly before 2 p.m.

Police reported the people involved were known to each other and there’s no ongoing risk to the public.

Police said there have been no arrests at this time but the investigation is ongoing.

Mounties are asking any witnesses, or who may have video surveillance footage, to come forward.
