The Peachland Creek Wildfire evacuation alert has been rescinded.

That means the 58 addresses impacted in the District of Peachland no longer have to be ready for possible evacuation.

The Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) will deactivate and wind down its operations.

In a media release Thursday , Central Okanagan Emergency Operations said emergency responders remain ready and residents should stay prepared for this wildfire season.

The following addresses are no longer on evacuation alert: All addresses on Stuart Crescent: all addresses on Sherburn Road; all addresses on Ferguson Place; 6532 – 6642 Renfrew Road; 6575, 6602, 6633 and 6696 Hwy 97 ; all units located at 6663 Hwy 97 ; Hwy 97 from Hardy Street extending one kilometre north.

The Central Okanagan Emergency Operations Centre thanks local residents, BC Wildfire Service, neighbouring fire departments, RCMP, BC Hydro and provincial agencies for their quick response and support.

As firefighters continue to monitor and address hot spots, residents should expect to see some residual smoke from the wildfire, as well as the regular movement of fire equipment.

Residents who see fire activity outside expected areas should call *5555 to report a wildfire and 911 to report a fire within city limits.
