West Kelowna RCMP urge caution as students return to school

As students in West Kelowna prepare to return to class, the RCMP are reminding drivers to be extra cautious around schools, crosswalks, and bus stops.

“Children are excited to see their friends and may not always be watching for traffic,” says Cpl. Tyrone Wilton of West Kelowna Traffic Services. “We’re asking drivers to slow down, stay alert, and respect school zone speed limits to help keep students safe.”

School zone limits are 30 km/h, with fines starting at $196. Expect increased enforcement in September.
