Kelowna RCMP is investigating an incident they’ve called “disturbing.”

They said hate-motivated graffiti, reported on Tuesday August 19, was put on the exterior wall of Rutland Arena in the 600-block of Dodd Road.

The graffiti contained hateful and discriminatory language, prompting an immediate response and investigation by police.

“This type of vandalism undermines the safety and inclusivity we strive for in our community,” Cpl. Allison Konsmo, Media Relations Officer with the Kelowna RCMP, said in a media release.

“We are committed to identifying those involved and ensuring they are held accountable.”

The suspects were seen in the vicinity of the arena around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday August 17, during which time they were observed on video surveillance spray painting the arena.

One of the two caucasian male suspects was last seen wearing green camo print pants, a black jacket, grey t-shirt, grey and purple baseball cap with white writing and boots.

The other suspect appears to have a brown beard and moustache, and was last seen wearing grey pants, red hoodie with white writing, red runners and a grey and black baseball cap. He was riding a gold and black mountain bike.

A second suspect was caught on a security camera riding a bike/RCMP

The RCMP is asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity near the Rutland Arena or who may have information about the suspects to contact the Kelowna RCMP non-emergency line at 250-762-3300 and reference file number 2025-49505.
