A local athlete made it to the podium in three different events at the Canada Cup.

Sierra Munroe won three medals in different events at the national rowing competition for U21 athletes held in London, Ontario, between August 14 and 16.

The Vernon Rowing and Dragon Boat Club (VRDBC) said Munroe, representing Team B.C. in the competitions, was part of the squad that took gold in the Mixed Eight competition.

The local rower was also part of the silver medal-winning Women’s Four crew, and took bronze in the Women’s Pair competition.

The VRDBC said this was a “victory lap” for Munroe, as she will be graduating from the club at the end of the summer and heading south to attend the University of Rhode Island on a full athletic scholarship.
