Vernon Canadians take gold at the Western Baseball Championships

The local U18AA baseball team has earned some serious hardware.

The Vernon Vipers, representing B.C., beat Team Manitoba 4-3 in the Western Baseball Championship gold medal game Sunday, August 17.

This was Vernon’s first ever Western Championship.

The win came after the local team also earned some more acolytes, as the Vernon Canadians won the AA Provincial Championship as the B.C. representatives in St. Albert, Alberta, just two weeks prior to taking the Western Championship title.
