A member of the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP is facing a possible dismissal.

Const. Shaun Miranda was the subject of a Code of Conduct hearing Monday, August 18.

Miranda is facing an allegation of breaking clause 7.1 of the RCMP Code of Conduct, “Discreditable Conduct: Member behaving in a manner that is not likely to discredit the Force.”

The B.C. RCMP said conduct hearings are initiated where the member’s dismissal is being sought based on circumstances of the allegations.

The Mounties did not provide any details about the allegations, stating these were court-like proceedings where a board of one of more persons reviews evidence, including sworn testimony, to determine if a claims are credible and should result in a dismissal.

The decision from the board will be handed down at a later date following the hearing process.
