An early morning power outage left thousands in West Kelowna and along Westside Road without electricity Friday.
BC Hydro reported the outage began at 4:51 a.m. and was caused by an object coming into contact with power lines. About 3,480 customers were affected, including residents in Lakeview Heights, neighbourhoods north of Highway 97, and properties stretching up Westside Road to Trader’s Cove and part of Bear Lake Main Road.
Repair crews were dispatched shortly after the outage was reported. Service was restored to all affected customers by 7:24 a.m., slightly ahead of the original estimate.
The utility has not said what the object was.
