Stretch of Bernard Avenue closed for weekend Show N Shine

Aug 14, 2025 | 10:22 AM

Two blocks of Bernard Avenue in downtown Kelowna will be closed to traffic this Saturday as the street is temporarily extended for a special event.

The 400 and 500 blocks, stretching from Kerry Park to St. Paul Street, will be off-limits to vehicles from 7 a.m. until around 7 p.m. to accommodate the Downtown Kelowna Association’s 2025 Show N Shine.

The closure also marks an extension of the summer-long Meet Me on Bernard initiative, which will now stretch two additional blocks for the day’s festivities.

A section of Pandosy Street will also be closed starting at 5:30 a.m., but Water Street and Ellis Street will remain open. Parking will be prohibited along the closed blocks, with courtesy tows arranged to the City Hall parking lot.

Show N Shine is a free, family-friendly car festival running from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents are encouraged to walk, bike or carpool to help reduce traffic and parking congestion.
