More camping options open at Silver Star

People looking to spend their weekends in the great outdoors now have more opportunities to do so close to home.

A new campground has opened at SilverStar Mountain.

The new Upper BX Campground, located approximately 2 kilometres from SilverStar’s village and near the Upper BX Trail, consists of 36 non-powered sites for tents, small trailers, and RV campers.

The four-season campground was built with financial assistance from the B.C. Destination Development Fund and will allow people to camp on the mountain throughout the year.

“The Upper BX Campground is a meaningful addition to SilverStar’s year-round offerings and a great example of how we’re creating more inclusive, flexible, and nature-connected experiences for visitors,” said Michael Benedek, executive director of Destination Silver Star.
