Dancing with the Vernon Stars event coming in October

The annual dancing fundraiser in support of end-of-life care will run in the fall with some new additions.

The Dancing with the Vernon Stars event will run October 18 at the Prestige Vernon Lodge and Conference Centre.

In the lead up to the dancing event, there will be some fundraising opportunities.

A 50/50 raffle, with a potential jackpot of $25,000, opened Wednesday, August 12. The winning ticket will be drawn on the night of the gala.

Raffle tickets for a chance to win two gala tickets and a luxury limousine ride will also open on August 31.

Tickets for the Dancing with the Vernon Stars also went on sale online Wednesday. Attendees will be given a dinner and drink on the night of the event.

For the first time, the event will feature both couples and group performances. There will also be live painting by Jordan Perkins, a silent and live auction, and interactive photo booths.

Dancing with the Vernon Stars raises funds in support of the North Okanagan Hospice Society, which provides a number of programs and services to support people in need of end-of-life care and their families.
