City grants to support three sustainability projects in Vernon

The City of Vernon is providing some financial aid for sustainability projects.

Through the 2025 Sustainability Grant program, the city is providing a total of $6,000 to support three projects.

  • Canadian Mental Health Association – $2,000 to create indoor tower gardens to improve youth mental health and food security
  • Okanagan Village Housing – $2,000 to provide waste management education and materials for affordable housing residents
  • Caetani Cultural Centre – $2,000 for the installation of rainwater catchment barrels to conserve water for landscaping

The Sustainability Grant program has an annual budget of $12,000, which are distributed in grants of up to $2,000 per project with application periods in the spring and the fall.
