Big crowds for Kelowna’s Canada Day festivities

Kelowna’s Canada Day drew huge crowds, with around 55,000 filling the waterfront for the festivities.

Roughly half that number, about 25,000, came back out after dark for the fireworks show.

Police say the day went off without a hitch, with no incidents reported.

Councillor Maxine DeHart says the celebrations had an “electrifying” energy from start to finish.
