stay cool

Where can you beat the heat?

Jul 29, 2025 | 7:00 AM

The City of Kelowna is reminding residents and visitors they can seek temporary relief from the intense heat in the coming days by visiting a variety of locations.

Temperatures could reach the mid or high 30s Tuesday through Thursday.

Cooler spots include recreation and activity centres, local libraries, and public parks and beaches with shady spaces where temperatures can be lower than homes without air conditioning.

City Park Waterpark, Ben Lee Waterpark, and Quilchena Splash Park offer extra fun and cooling.

Kelowna transit fares will also be waived during this heat warning – just tell the driver you’re travelling to a place to cool down.
