Police seize Spallumcheen property used for illicit drug production
The B.C. Government has taken control of a North Okanagan property that was allegedly used for producing illicit substances.
In February, the RCMP raided a clandestine lab off of Reservoir Road in Spallumcheen and found evidence of illegal drug production.
Following the seizure, the B.C. Director of Civil Forfeiture filed a lawsuit, which was acted upon and saw the 21-hectare parcel of land, valued at $1.067 million, seized by the province.
In a release, the Township of Spallumcheen said that the owners and tenants of the property had previously engaged in other actions contrary to the municipal bylaws, including unauthorized construction, illegal tree removal, and the burning of prohibited chemicals.
