COVID-19 outbreak declared at VJH

A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
Interior Health says the outbreak was identified Thursday, July 24, and was affecting the 3 North Medical wing.
IH said four people were infected due to this outbreak, though did not confirm if they were all patients or if there were any cases of serious illness.
The health authority did state that measures were in place to reduce the risk of further spread of the virus at VJH. Those include enhanced cleaning and disinfection, increased use of personal protective equipment, encouraging people to stay in their rooms and limit contact with others, and rescheduling non-emergency appointments and outings.
