Drowning prevention week

With Okanagan Lake named B.C.’s deadliest lake, caution is being urged during National Drowning Prevention Week.

There were 28 drowning deaths from 2014 to 2024 in the body of water.

Harrison Lake is second in drownings.

These lakes show how risky popular waters can be.

The Lifesaving Society of Canada wants to raise awareness and prevent drowning deaths.
