Annual paddleboard fundraiser runs Friday

A fundraiser that sees paddleboarders travel the length of Kalamalka Lake will take place Friday, July 24.

The annual Stand Up For Fundraising event is in support of Foundry North Okanagan, which provides mental health supports and services to area youth through the the Vernon and District Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association.

The paddleboarders are doing the 17 kilometre trip with the goal of raising $25,000 in support of Foundry.

The participants are expected to begin their journey from Oyama around 8:30 a.m. Friday, and finish their paddle at Kal Beach in Coldstream between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. The time needed to cover the length of the lake will be dependent on the weather and wind conditions.
