Lime unveils new e-bike model in Kelowna
A new generation of electric bikes is hitting the streets of Kelowna as Lime rolls out its most accessible model to date.
The redesigned LimeBike has been introduced in the Okanagan city, with a full fleet of 100 bikes expected to be available soon. Kelowna is one of the first Canadian communities to host the upgraded e-bikes, which have been built with inclusivity and ease of use in mind.
“Kelowna has been a leader in adopting greener transportation, and we’re proud to continue growing with the city,” said Sonia Kandola, Lime’s senior director of government relations. “This new model supports longer trips, bridges gaps in public transit and provides a more comfortable ride for people of all ages.”
The e-bike includes several updates aimed at improving stability and accessibility. The battery has been repositioned and larger wheels have been added to lower the bike’s centre of gravity, making it easier to handle — particularly for smaller riders. A new front basket can carry larger items, and the low placement allows for safer turns even when full.
