Kelowna gets dedicated RCMP leadership

A new policing structure is now in place in Kelowna, with leadership focused entirely on the city.

Superintendent Chris Goebel took over as Officer in Charge under a model that no longer shares command with surrounding communities.

City officials say this will allow police to respond faster and more directly to local concerns.

Mayor Tom Dyas says it marks a significant step in building safer neighbourhoods and stronger public trust.
