Cleanup continues in Sicamous following a powerful storm Wednesday night that left debris scattered across the community and prompted dozens of emergency calls.

District operations crews were out late into the night, working to restore safe access to affected areas.

The storm kept Sicamous Fire Rescue busy, with crews responding to 23 emergency calls.

Damage assessments are ongoing.

District officials thanked the many responders who stepped up during and after the storm including municipal staff, fire crews, emergency partners, and local contractors. Their efforts included clearing roads, restoring power, and maintaining essential services like the water system.

“We couldn’t have done it without them,” the District said in a statement.
