44 new shelter places for women and children in Kelowna

Kelowna now has 44 new shelter and transitional housing spaces for women and children fleeing violence.

The new Alexandra Gardner Women and Children Safe Centre offers 20 shelter beds and 24 studio homes to help families find safety and support.

The project received over $5 million from the province and support from the federal government.

NOW Canada will run the centre, providing 24/7 help, with facilities like a kitchen, lounge, and laundry.
