UPDATE: Boil Water Notice lifted

UPDATE:

The Boil Water Notice for properties in the Bella Vista area has been lifted.

Greater Vernon Water rescinded the notice Tuesday, July 15, after bacterial testing showed that disinfection levels are within normal drinking water standards in the distribution system.

The notice was issued July 9 and affected select properties on Cameo Drive, Jade Road and Topaz Road.

Greater Vernon Water has put 20 properties under a Boil Water Notice.

The utility provider issued the notice following a water main break Wednesday, July 9.

The notice covers properties on Cameo Drive, Jade Road, and Topaz Road, in the Bella Vista area.

Greater Vernon Water advised people in the affected area to bring tap water to a rolling boil for a full minute before drinking; using to make and prepare food or drink, including ice and baby formula; and brushing teeth.

The advisory will be lifted once sample testing shows the water’s bacterial levels are within the drinking standard.
